Although silicon carbide wears down faster than aluminum oxide, it produces a more lustrous surface finish. It is frequently used to repair defects in varnish layers, coatings, and plastic surfaces, as it effectively allows for the fine finishing of these surfaces without causing significant scratches or damage to the workpiece.
